1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "user") and CalcYourWealth ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the website located at calcyourwealth.com (the "Site"). These Terms govern your access to and use of the Site, including all calculators, content, tools, data, features, and services offered on it.

By accessing or using any part of the Site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms in full, you must not access or use the Site.

2. Description of Service

CalcYourWealth provides a free collection of 50 financial calculators covering loans, mortgages, savings, investments, retirement, taxes, budgeting, and business metrics. All calculators are accessible without registration or payment. The Site is funded through display advertising and clearly disclosed affiliate partnerships, neither of which alters the formulas or results returned by any calculator (see Section 9).

We reserve the right to add, modify, suspend, or remove any calculator, feature, or section of the Site at any time without prior notice, subject to the service availability terms in Section 14.

3. Educational Purpose - Not Professional Advice

All calculators, results, reference data, benchmark tables, guides, and other content on this Site are provided for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on this Site constitutes, and nothing should be interpreted as:

• Financial, investment, or securities advice
• Tax advice or tax preparation services
• Legal advice of any kind
• Insurance advice or actuarial services
• Credit counseling or debt management services
• Banking, lending, or mortgage origination services

CalcYourWealth is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, bank, lender, insurance company, tax preparer, or financial planner. Calculator results are estimates based on the values you enter and stated mathematical assumptions. They are not a guarantee, commitment, or offer by any financial institution or professional.

4. Accuracy of Results and Reference Data

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that the mathematical formulas, calculation logic, and reference data used by our calculators are accurate and current. Specifically:

• Formulas are based on standard financial mathematics and, where applicable, current published government methodology (IRS, SSA, BLS, and others as disclosed on the About page).
• Time-sensitive values (tax brackets, contribution limits, benefit parameters, rate averages) are sourced from named government publications and updated when those publications are revised.
• Where reference data may be stale, a staleness notice is displayed on the relevant tool page.

Despite these efforts, calculator results are estimates and may differ from figures produced by a lender, tax authority, broker, actuary, or other qualified professional due to rounding conventions, jurisdiction-specific rules, individual circumstances, fees not entered, or factors outside the scope of the calculator. You are solely responsible for verifying any result before relying on it for a financial decision.

If you identify an error in a formula or an outdated reference value, please report it through the contact page with the tool name, your inputs, and the expected versus actual output. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly and noted in the tool's changelog.

5. Acceptable Use

You may use the Site and its calculators for personal, educational, and non-commercial research purposes. The following uses are specifically permitted:

• Using any calculator to estimate a financial figure for your own planning or research.
• Sharing a link to a calculator page for informational or educational purposes.
• Citing a result or benchmark from the Site in a personal, academic, or journalistic context, with attribution and a link to the source page.
• Embedding a link to the Site in a blog, article, social media post, or educational resource, provided it does not misrepresent the nature or accuracy of the tools.

6. Prohibited Conduct

The following uses are expressly prohibited. Violation may result in your access being blocked and, where applicable, legal action:

• Automated scraping at scale. You may not use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or automated scripts to extract content or data from the Site at volumes that impair server performance or replicate the Site's content in a competing product. Reasonable crawling by search engine bots that respect robots.txt is permitted.
• Circumventing access controls. You may not attempt to bypass any rate limiting, security measure, or access restriction implemented on the Site.
• Denial of service. You may not attempt to overload, disrupt, or degrade the Site's servers or network infrastructure.
• Reverse engineering. You may not decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code, algorithms, or formulas of the Site by technical means other than reviewing the formula documentation we publish openly.
• Misrepresentation. You may not represent calculator results as professionally verified figures, as guaranteed outcomes, or as the output of a licensed financial professional or institution.
• Unlawful use. You may not use the Site for any purpose prohibited by applicable local, state, national, or international law, including using financial calculation results to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or tax evasion.
• Harmful submissions. You may not submit content through the contact form or any other input that contains malware, phishing content, SQL injection attempts, or other malicious code.
• Unauthorized commercial use. You may not reproduce, resell, or commercially exploit any substantial portion of the Site's content, tools, or data without a written license agreement.

7. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all content on the Site - including but not limited to text, calculator interfaces, underlying PHP and JavaScript code, formulas as presented and documented, CSS design, graphics, icons, benchmark tables, written guides, and FAQ content - is the property of CalcYourWealth or its content licensors and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

What you may do:

• Use the calculators freely for personal and educational purposes.
• Share links to individual calculator pages with accurate attribution.
• Quote short excerpts (under 50 words) from written content with a direct link to the source page.
• Reference formula names and mathematical methodology (formulas themselves, such as the standard amortization equation, are not copyrightable).

What you may not do without written permission:

• Reproduce or republish substantial portions of written guides, FAQ content, or benchmark data tables.
• Frame or embed the Site's pages within another website or application in a way that removes or obscures attribution.
• Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or attribution notice from any part of the Site.
• Create derivative works that replicate the visual design or content architecture of the Site for a competing product.

The name "CalcYourWealth," the site logo, and associated marks are trademarks or trade dress of CalcYourWealth. No right or license to use them is granted by these Terms.

8. User Submissions

When you submit a message through the contact form, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the content of that message for the purpose of responding to your enquiry and, where applicable, improving the Site (for example, correcting a formula error you have identified).

You represent that any submission you make does not infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party, does not contain personal data of third parties submitted without their consent, and complies with the prohibited conduct rules in Section 6.

Calculator input values (home prices, incomes, loan balances, etc.) submitted through calculator forms are not considered "user submissions" for intellectual property purposes. They are processed solely to return the requested calculation result and are not retained as described in the Privacy Policy - Data Retention.

9. Third-Party Links, Advertising, and Affiliate Relationships

External links. The Site may link to third-party websites including government agencies, financial institutions, and reference sources. These links are provided for information and convenience only. We do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party website. Accessing a third-party site from a link on this Site is at your own risk and subject to that site's own terms and privacy policy.

Advertising. The Site displays advertisements through Google AdSense and potentially other approved ad networks. Advertising revenue funds free access to all calculators. No advertiser has any influence over calculator formulas, default inputs, reference data, or results. Ad placements are visually separated from calculator content.

Affiliate and partner links. Some pages contain clearly labeled links to financial products and services (for example, mortgage lenders, investment platforms, or insurance providers). These are affiliate or referral links. If you click such a link and complete a transaction on the partner's website, we may receive a commission or referral fee from the partner. This compensation:

• Does not increase the price you pay for any product or service.
• Does not influence which calculators exist on this Site.
• Does not affect any formula, default value, or result returned by any calculator.
• Does not constitute an endorsement of the partner's products as suitable for your individual circumstances.

Affiliate links are identified at the point of the link. Transactions completed on partner websites are governed by the partner's own terms, policies, and pricing.

11. Limitation of Liability

This limitation of liability applies regardless of the legal theory asserted (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and regardless of whether we were advised of the possibility of such damage.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CalcYourWealth, its operators, contributors, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, and legal fees arising out of or relating to:

• Your use of the Site in violation of these Terms;
• Your reliance on any calculator result for a financial, legal, tax, or investment decision without independent professional verification;
• Any content you submit through the Site that infringes a third party's intellectual property or privacy rights;
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation in connection with your use of the Site.

13. Copyright Infringement - DMCA Notice and Takedown

We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), if you believe that content on this Site infringes a copyright you hold, please submit a written notice containing all of the following:

1. Your physical or electronic signature (or that of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner).
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are affected.
3. Identification of the material on our Site that you claim is infringing, with sufficient detail to allow us to locate it (e.g., the full URL of the page).
4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement made under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Send DMCA notices to: hello@calcyourwealth.com with the subject line "DMCA Notice." We will investigate valid notices and remove or disable access to infringing material within a reasonable time. Submitting a false or bad-faith DMCA notice may expose you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

14. Service Availability and Modifications

We aim to keep the Site available continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Site may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance (we will endeavor to schedule this during low-traffic hours);
• Unplanned outages caused by server, network, or third-party infrastructure failures;
• Security incidents requiring immediate protective action;
• Events beyond our reasonable control (see force majeure below).

Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, internet infrastructure failures, cyberattacks on third-party providers, or other events that could not reasonably have been anticipated or prevented.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any calculator, feature, or section of the Site at any time. Where a significant feature is permanently discontinued, we will post a notice on the Site for at least 30 days before removal where practicable.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which CalcYourWealth is domiciled, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users located in the European Union or United Kingdom, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply to the extent they cannot be waived by contract.

Subject to the dispute resolution provisions in Section 16, any legal action arising from these Terms or your use of the Site that is not resolved through arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the governing jurisdiction, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

16. Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution first. Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to contact us through the contact page and give us 30 days to resolve the dispute informally. Most concerns - formula errors, content issues, or account questions - can be resolved quickly this way.

Binding arbitration (US users). If a dispute is not resolved informally within 30 days, you and we agree that any claim arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration body, rather than in court. You waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.

Exceptions. Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court to prevent irreparable harm, including in cases of intellectual property infringement or unauthorized access. Nothing in this section prevents you from filing a complaint with a consumer protection agency or regulatory authority.

EU / UK users. If you are located in the EU or UK, the arbitration clause above does not apply to you if it would deprive you of mandatory consumer protection rights under the laws of your country of residence. EU users may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform .

17. General Provisions

• Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Financial Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Site and supersede any prior agreements.
• Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
• Waiver. Failure by us to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision and does not waive our ability to enforce it in the future.
• Assignment. You may not assign or transfer any rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not confer any rights or remedies on any third party.
• Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of these Terms.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or site features. When we do:

• The effective date at the top of this page is updated.
• For material changes - changes that meaningfully expand your obligations, limit your rights, or alter the nature of the service - a notice will be displayed on the Site homepage for at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
• For email subscribers, material changes will be communicated by email before they take effect where practical.
• Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of a revised version of these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept the revised Terms, you must stop using the Site.

We conduct a full review of these Terms at least once per year. The next scheduled review is August 1, 2027.
